The Crown! Netflix has just released a sneak peek of the upcoming sixth and final season of the historical drama series, set to likely release in November 2023.
The new season will feature young Prince William and Kate Middleton, played by Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy, as the plot moves towards the present day.
The released images show the royal couple holding hands, possibly depicting the early days of their courtship at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

These two characters are expected to play important roles in the latest season, which previously featured top-notch actors like Claire Foy, Olivia Colman, and John Lithgow.
In addition to the exciting news about the upcoming season, it has been reported that Gillian Anderson, who played Margaret Thatcher in Season 4 of The Crown, was expected to return for the final season but was unable to do so due to scheduling issues.
Anderson’s portrayal of the former British Prime Minister was widely acclaimed, and she won an Emmy Award for her performance. According to a source, the producers had planned for Anderson’s character to attend a dinner with the Queen and Prince Philip, but had to rewrite the script when she was unable to return. However, a Netflix spokesperson later clarified that Anderson was never intended to return as Thatcher.
