Gladiator Online Movie Trailer
Ridley Scott, along with his masterpieces, Alien and Blade Runner, borrowed film cinema, especially the genre of science fiction, and his name will remain in capital letters. Known as a director who does not have a characteristic genre, he decided to screen the antique spectacle, a genre that had lost popularity in the late 1960s.
The action of the film is located in the second century of the new era, when the inhabitants of the Roman Empire live in peace and in peace. Maximus, the faithful general of the Roman army, manages to expel the Germanic tribe that threatens to attack the northern borders. Marko Aurelius, an elderly emperor, insists that Maximus be the heir to him and proclaim the republic. Maximus wants to return to his family and give up, but Komod's Emperor's brother, offended by the fact that his father does not want his successor, accuses Maksimus of treason, orders his family to be killed and burn down the property. Maximus does not manage to save his family, captured by slave hunters and becomes a fighter in the arenas in the outskirts of the empire. With his talent and strength, he succeeds in progressing and receiving a call to fight the games organized by the Commode in Rome itself.
"Gladiator" owns everything that antique spectacles from the fifties of the last century - great historical landscapes, exotic places, foggy dust, vibrant colors, a large number of statists - were possessed. It does not deal with strictly historical facts, which enables an interesting and exciting story. The scenario seems quite simple, with the main themes of conspiracy and revenge, but by adding political intrigue, romance, human drama and excellent characterization, the film makes the film at no time boring.
The director has fully exploited the possibilities offered by modern technology. The pianists worked on a computer, without large panels used earlier, and replaced thousands of stats with computer duplication of characters. Visual details have been brought to the maximum, he experimented with the camera, the set design is real, and costumes and make-ups are devoted to a lot of attention. The film follows excellent sound and brilliant soundtrack.
Russel Crow has masterfully presented the role of General Maximus, unobtrusively, yet complex and efficient, and deservedly won the Academy Award for the best male role that year. He had great support in Joaquin Phoenix, who, with his performance of the offended, neurotic Commodore, earned a nomination for the best supporting male role. Connie Nielsen did not overstep the role of Lucille, while actor Oliver Reed died while filming the film, and part of his role was dual.
"Gladiator" is a splendid, efficient two-hour historical spectacle that has brought innovation to the film industry and crashed certain taboos. His value is confirmed by even twelve nominations for the Oscars in all major categories. This is not a top movie, but for him to be a little bit, it is a compulsory movie lecture, and everyone should look at it.
