King of Thieves is a British crime drama based on true events directed by James Marsh in the script of Joe Penhall.

The cast includes Michael Caine as Brian Reader, Jim Broadbent as Terry Perkins, Tom Courtenay as John Kenny Collins, Charlie Cox as Basil, Paul Whitehouse as Carl Wood, Michael Gambon as Billy "The Fish" Lincoln and Ray Winstone as Danny Jones.

A well-known thief in his youth, widowed Brian Reader, aged 77, brings together a gang of criminals and conceives an unseen robbery of Hatton Garden Safe Deposit. All the thieves he gathered in the sixties and seventies (except for one) and use their hacked rope skills in planning robbery during the Easter weekend. Playing servers enter the vault, deactivate the alarms and, with the help of a diamond industrial drill, drills the holes in the wall of the safe. Two days later, they managed to escape stolen jewelry and money worth more than 14 million pounds. Brian Reader arrived to the London jewelery district where the robbery was made using his retirement stamp. The prosecution called this robbery "the greatest looting in the history of England". The aging criminals set up a robbery while drinking a beer in a pub in the northern part of London.
