Tulip Fever is a historical romantic drama directed by Justin Chadwick based on the eponymous novel from 1999 written by a birtan author Deborah Moggach. Tom Stoppard, famous for writing the screenplay for Empire of the Sun, Shakespeare In Love and Anna Karenina, is also credited with the scenario, but also for work on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Sleepy Hollow. The film's work is based in Amsterdam in the 17th century, followed by Jan Van Loos (Dane DeHaan), an artist rich in Cornelis Sandvoort (Christoph Waltz) hired to portray a common portrait of him and his wife Sophie (Alicia Vikander). Over time, between a passionate Jan and an unhappy Sophie, a love relationship develops, and they begin to plan a common future. Everything takes place during the Dutch mania for various types of tulips that have completely changed the economic valuation of flowers. The popularity of the Lala in the Netherlands has remained eternal, and these flowers are decorated with numerous Dutch gardens, streets and squares. Although originating from Central Asia, today the trademark of the Netherlands, the country that is the largest exporter of flowers in the world, has fallen.
